Now the final major benefit to electricity deregulation is that is helps the states economy. When there are many electric companies fighting for your dollars they drop their rates significantly. This major rate reduction gives the deregulated states a significant advantage over that that are not deregulated to attract new business. Presently there are six major firms looking to relocate within the United States. You can bet that one of their considerations is what is the cost to operate our facilities. Don’t you think electricity is a major consideration? You bet it is. In fact it is in the top ten of a corporations expenses.
